SOUTHERN FREESTYLE PAT SHARPLES GROM CAMP

The Low down on the Pat Sharples GROM Camp in collaboration with Southern Freestyle Club.

Cold…crisp…clear…the perfect type of days for riding…  And that’s exactly what we did on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th November at the Pat Sharples GROM camp and Jam organised by the Southern Freestyle Club at Warmwell Ski Slope in Dorset.

With 40+ riders at the Saturday camp and evening Jam competition and 25+ on the Sunday camp the event was a runaway success.

Pat Sharples and his awesome band of top class coaches: James Webb, James Wood…….. motivated and enthused youngsters from as young as six years old.  Some were experienced freestyle skiers, some had come to learn new tricks and some were experiencing the rails and kickers for the first time.  Whatever the riders’ aims, the smiles throughout the day said it all – it was awesome!

The music pumped as the riders were divided into small groups and introduced to their own special coach, who took them from rails to kickers throughout the day, giving individual advice and tips.  There was even a trampoline on hand for groups to perfect their 360s and front flips, which proved popular!

At the end of the camps no one went away empty handed – prizes were awarded by each coach for the most improved skier and the best trick performed in each group not to mention the latest Salomon DVD for every rider.

And if the GROM camps weren’t enough, the Jam Competition on Saturday evening was open to skiers and snowboarders alike, with a fantastic selection of categories and prizes, including: a laptop; cameras; a vast array Salomon goodies; Alps impact protection clothing and gloves; Spazz T-Shirts and Hoodies to name but a few.

Well done to all those who took part in both camps and the Jam, and a big well done to the following prize winners:
